Regrettable sale of my Escort RS Turbo, full 90 spec in Radiant Red.

Mot'd till 9th March 2011, taxed till end of August. HPI clear, registered in December 1989, V5 present in my name.

Exterior:

As it left the factory, with 90 spec bumper and spoiler. Car has clear front and side indicators fitted, and smoked rear lights (originals included) and smaller front number plate. Very small bubble of rust under drivers repeater, one bubble on roof in usual place, size of a 5p piece, and small one under front windscreen rubber. Very, very straight example which looks stunning when polished, not faded anywhere - car has obviously had some paint over the years but been done to a great standard. Some stonechips to front bumper and bodykit, to be expected and does not detract from look of car at all. Replacement battery tray been fitted, fusebook area in great condition, been a couple of plates in boot also done to a good standard.

Interior:

Car had wrong interior fitted when i bought it so I have sourced the correct 90 spec interior - this is in fantastic condition with zero rips or major marks (seats were shampoo'd before fitting by a valeter) Door cards in good condition except for two small holes where they were previously fitted to a base model car and were modified for manual window winders. All standard inside, no white dials etc. Original parcel shelf in mint condition. Turbo timer fitted also. Miles are approx 125k but personally with a car like this, I buy on condition rather than miles. All electrics work as they should. Remote central locking via a Toad alarm.

Mechanicals:

Car is fairly standard but has a few mods, cone filter, full Scorpion stainless exhaust, uprated actuator, Group A coil, bigger intercooler and Bailey breather kit. You will see from photos that previous owner spent a lot of time and money getting various parts of engine bay powder coated and it looks great. Brand new Ford header tank been fitted also. I believe engine was set up shortly before I bought the car and has been 100% perfect and reliable for me - it runs great and is very quick, dont have a power output but it spins up the wheels in 4th gear in the wet, so dont think its standard power!

Lowered 40mm all round on G-max suspension, new bottom arms been fitted, brand new cross drilled, grooved and vented front brakes just fitted, rear disc conversion using sierra solid discs. Wheels are original 15" RS alloys - spare is an RST alloy but not in great condition.

Overall:

A very tidy RST thats obviously been looked after by enthusiast owners, there is a huge pile of receipts and most mot's from new. Its not a concours ready showcar but then i'm not asking £7k for it. I've had loads of these and this one has been most reliable and quickest, its been my daily driver for last 5 months and i would happily take it anywhere. I bought it for the summer shows but now time to sell so I can concentrate on my other mk4 over the winter.

She will need a clutch at some point as it occasionally slips on high boost but never when just driving about - can buy a clutch kit for about £60 nowadays.

£2,700 ono
