Rich
first of all a bumper aint small. Second i have some DTM mirrors for sale bump strips are a bitch to put back on when they have been removed. using my mirrors as an example, rub them down with a fine wet and dry to take the shine off. Degrease with some meths or something. Prime a few coats leaving plenty of time in a warm area to dry. A few top coats until a good even coverage Allow extra drying time then apply a few coats of laquer. I leave about a week then use a fine rubbing compound to shine up the laquer and ur done

sime73
best to get a bodyshop to do it m8, at least get the bumper done properlyit'll be money wasted in primer/paint/laquer if it doesn't look goodhave a dabble on your mirrors first and see how u get on
gecko
I am doing my door handles at moment, rubbed them down to get rid of grain, then plastic primer, paint then laquer followed by Finesse it to get a shine. Just one thing I am unsure about is how long to let laquer dry, see Rich gives it a week, just wondering how body shops get around this as my side skirts took aabout 5 hours from taking into body shop to being ready for collection. How do the laquer dry and then buff it so quickly. Just one thing, do not attempt big items yourself, I did rear spoiler myself and wish I had not. white_van_matt
"just wondering how body shops get around this"I think they use an oven - do not try this at home though! LOL I sprayed my mirrors, and whilst I didn't get an absolutely perfect finish, they stand close inspection and it was fun to do - don't know about a bumper though I think i'd leave it to a bodyshop myself!
