Domswift Posted September 6, 2003 Share Posted September 6, 2003 In my never - ending quest for a nicer interior, i move onto the handbrake. AAAAAGH, wtf is going on! I remove the handbrake to find out i have sliced open my hand on a barbaric tooth inside, to top the lot, the thing is completely non standard, will any after-market handbrake fit the escort GTI? The inside is so big i think i have only seen one handle that will fit it, its by Momo and is 45 notes just for the handle, then id have to get a gaiter. Is the handbrake like this on all escorts or is it just the GTi? If it is, has anyone fitted a new handle to a GTi or does anyone know of a way to get one to fit? celsis Posted September 15, 2003 Share Posted September 15, 2003 waxacar do an ally handbrake cover for the MK VI for around a tenner on ebay. Fits great, but make sure they send you the right one. The one they sent me originally was for a MkIV and I only noticed it after I sawed off the the original cover. Had to drive around for a week with the B*stard taped on!
