Drsarf
Hi all Recently got a 96 escort 1.6 16v Serenade. Drives well but there's a lot of travel in the clutch before it bites.Just wondered whether this is adjustable (if cable) or whether its more likely to require a new clutch in the short future. Mileage is 78K Many thanks
Markc
Adjust the pedal (allen key head) to move the pedal to where you want it. Only need small adjustments each time and try it. if still no joy replace the clutch cable (these should always be replaced when doing a clutch a anyway). age and milage is only half of the story with clutches, it really depends on how the car is driven ie if the owner rides the clutch alot and if you are in more stop start traffic rather than motorway milage.
