1999 Escort Finesse 1.6.

Only 80,000 miles showing on the clock.

Nice set of aftermarket alloys.

Power steering, central locking, all that sort of stuff. Hopefully you folks will know the full spec but if not I'm happy to answer any questions.

Has towbar and electrics fitted.

Standard double din radio/CD player.

Starts first time, no signs of water and oil mixing or loss. Seems to go ok, I've only driven it ten miles or so but my mate who had it before me used it every day and went to Scotland a few times in it.

Bumpers v. good, though front has a slight crack near the n/s foglight.

Known faults:

No MOT, no tax (tax is on way to DVLA to be cashed back).

One arch pretty rough , the other less so.

Some strange rust on the pillar in front of the driver's door, hopefully it can be seen in the interior shot.

Will want probably two tyres (195/50/15s) for the MOT and the other two should really be replaced too, though they're probably just about 'legal'.

Rear seat bench has a slight tear.

Strange noise coming from cat area. My mate said the heat shield was hanging off so he removed it and it's made that noise since. Possibly the cat but I'm convinced it's nothing serious, though feel free to come and have a look at it of course.

Probably wants a good clean and there may be other niggles I've not spotted yet.

I don't tell lies or try and rip people off, it's not my thing and I hate people who do.

Car is in Chester, Cheshire, very close to M53/A55/A41/A483/A5, within very easy reach of the M6 (North and South) and about 2 miles from the railway station.

Now, here's something that might help:

If you live miles away and want an unbiased opinion of the car then ask anyone you like to come and look at it for you and report back on this thread. I have nothing to hide as said above. I'm welcome to all inspections etc and there is a genuine short (500 yards?) private road near me it can be tried out on.

£170, cash on collection from Chester.

With great respect I cannot abide 'txt tlk' (apart from the odd ironic 'lol'!) and I don't really like mails and replies asking 'what's your bottom/lowest/best cash price' etc. I will probably take a close offer when you've seen the car though. I hope that doesn't seem arrogant, it's just I've dealt with too many twits over the years so I'm quite guarded about that sort of thing!

Hopefully it's a very fair price for the car, I hate mentioning scrap as I don't like people who use that as a threat to sell stuff. Sadly I've no room for the car and if push comes to shove I will remove cat, battery and alloys and send the car over the bridge. I do NOT like doing this though, seems a waste of what could be a very 'useable' car for someone or a good source of parts.

I cannot break it sorry (time and room) so it has to go complete if someone wants to buy it.

I'm a cycle collector so might be interested in a nice quality road bike (old or modern) in part-exchange but it'll have to be cheap and be with money my way.
