EscortDavey Posted November 29, 2003 Share Posted November 29, 2003 Hi all, Just bought some infinty 6*9sopened them and they had no cablesso ive bought the speaker cable, bullet connectors and speaker terminals ive fitted the terminals - easy the cable?? does it just slide into the buttet connectors and terminals??does some of the plastic cover need to be removed so the wire is touching the metal part of the terminals?? please help, want to fit them today! John Posted November 29, 2003 Share Posted November 29, 2003 slide the wire into the correct end of the connector, crimp the connector around the wire. simple as that. don't cut any of the plastic off the connector as that acts as a insulator. Escort boy Posted November 29, 2003 Share Posted November 29, 2003 or if theyre in ur parcel shelf then you can get connectors that go into your 'yellow box' for your other smaller speakers in the rear quarter and these then slide onto the 6X9s. You can take my advice or leave it but if I was you take them back to the shop you bought them from and spend the money on some decent front components, or if you have uprated fronts spend the cash on a small amp to run them. 6x9s are sh1t! they have a very low frequency repsonse, they are all midrange and high trebble, they drag the sound to the back of the car, sound sh1t when you have a sub in the boot. Take this for example, when you go to a concert where does the sound come from ? the FRONT! My car only has front speakers and 1 sub, and imo sound amazing, no distortion, no sound being dragged to the back of the car just a nice clean sound coming from the front giving a nice soundstage and good stereo image.
