Phill
Presumably they're component speakers and he's got some tweeters nestled somewhere.Crossovers split the signal so high level sound goes to the tweeters, mid levels go to the woofers. Standard speakers just pile the whole lot through a crappy cardboard woofer, and sound dismal.
simonh1
Thats right, they are Genesis components, the mid driver and tweeter are behind the grill in the door..............
Russ_Zetec
So would u need a crossover for a 2way or 3way speaker?
B19 JUB
most component sets come with either a filter in the tweeter wire or a seperate box of tricks which seperates frequencies after they have been amplified.these are called passive crossovers which is a cheaper option.then u have active crossovers which split frequencies before they have been amplified.this is a dearer option as each frequency would need its own amplifier ie bass, midbass, mid range and tweeter etc, good set of components all round and a box does the trick nicely, hope that was of some help
sime73
So would u need a crossover for a 2way or 3way speaker? no m8, crossovers are just for component speakers ( mid-range speaker and a seperate tweeter) a 2-way speaker is mid range speaker with a tweeter built in hence 2-way or 2 different frequenciesa 3-way speaker has a woofer, mid range and tweeter built in
