BIG STU
right all you ice guru's out there might be able to give advice on this. been looking for an sub and amp combo for a while and at the moment caraudio direct are selling a pioneer tsw121spl 12" sub for £99 nominal power 750w max 2000w looks like a good buy but i need an amp to power it. I have been told previously that it is more damaging to the speaker to UNDERPOWER it rather than overpower (more distortion from amp at high volume levels) Been looking at a few amps in the £300-£400 price bracket. most of which vary at 300-500watt rms. would pairing these items be a bad idea?? i.e is it going to be enough power to get decent sound from that SUB???? Secondly can someone enlighten me on the tech details for wiring subs in parrallel. i know if you wire 2 x 4 ohm dual coil subs in parrallel then they becomes 2 ohm and you drag more power from the amp but is the power rating of the individual sub altered???
