-JBM-
Ive got a gti that I have put some 16" wheels off a mondeo on.... Why has the car slowed down so much??????????????????????? ...and how can this be rectified? thinking about.. a) getting a full system magnex exhaust or..b) getting lower profile tyres.. they are currently 205/50/
white_van_matt
You will probably have increased the rolling radius of your wheels (circumference of tyre) I think. Although, I don't know how noticable it would be in your situation - I know it gets quite slow indeed with 18s on Fitting lower profile tyres should help yeah - i've fitted 15s with 50s over the standard 14s, but have achieved the same RR as standard, because the wheel+tyre is no bigger so no speed change. Lower profile tyres should also help you corner better You should also watch out, coz yor speedo is likely to underread a bit if you have a bigger RR
