Tom_escort2004 Posted July 21, 2004 Share Posted July 21, 2004 okays i got a mk5, mk5 with a mk6 arse end. im going to be buying a cheap ish gasless mig welder cause i can get them cheap. im planing on getting a second hand bonnet for an escort from the scrappy and badboyin it, not full on, just some light extensions. i know this can be done with a fiesta, but will it foul the headlights on a escort? or can i move the bonnet slightly forward? also could i do a badboy over quad headlight conversion, would look the nuts:D ive done smooth bonnets before on fiestas, but never badboys, i fancy getting a bonnet from scrappy and have a go jo, i got good sanding and filling techniques. y idea would be to weld a plate onto the headlights then mark it and cut it to shape, then weld another plate over the top and make it as flush as possible so less use of filler = less chance of the dreaded cracks. double skinned if you like, and just use filler to cover up the joins/weld area. could be fun Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Lambo Posted July 21, 2004 Share Posted July 21, 2004 It does work no problem mate, but you would be best to do it over morettes cause then it will pass MOT etc with bonnet, if you do it over standard headlights you need to swap the bonnet as the extensions cover the reflectors, either that or go for a mot with a friendly guy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
