reidy
My car does the usual thing when it needs tracking, vibrates heavily braking at about 38-41mph. BUT......When I accelerate (usually in 2nd or 3rd its most noticeable), the car will kinda drift off to the left, but when I change to the next gear it will drift to the right, so I'm forever correcting, any ideas? It passed it's MOT last week, although this was happening, please dont tell me its something to do with the gearbox!! Cheers
Ex-Finesse
The kind of 'loose steering' you describe could be worn lower arms (wishbones). Have you driven it in the wet? My car was lethal when the lower arms were worn! Tracking will also be wildly out as the wheels will have a much greater amount of 'play' due to the worn arms. Your tyres will be wearing quickly, and will hit you in the wallet if you are on a low profile! My 17s wore out (from new) in 1,000miles. Get a decent garage to look at them
