okay have undon all the engine mounts apart from 4 and the gearbox is al undon aswell an all i need to do is take out the 4 mounts an i gots an engine on my driveway

 

but that is not the problem i have somebody told me that because of the pats system on my mk5b escort you cant fit a 2.0l zetec in 4 y? is this true? if its true is there anyway around it? or a guide i can use to KILL pats as its turning out to be more of a pain than its worth. as far as i know im gonna b taking the 2.0l outta a mondeo an slipping it in wit the moose head etc changed over along wit the ecu if somebody could tell me wtf i do ? would b gr8 cheers

OH BTW 4 got to tell u its a 1.6 zetec im changing over

theres only 1 engine mount and 2 gearbox mounts, so i dunno where ur gettin 4 from!!!

 

its not a prob just leave the ECU alone

soz ment to say 4 bolts lols but i take it then that once i plug the new engine in itl still b running on a 1.6 ecu ???? an i cant swap it for a 2.0l one as it dont hav pats

the 2.0 ECU wont fit without major surgery, its different

 

use a unichip with the 1.6 ECU, i use the 1.6 ECU for 3-4k miles now an its ok, just savin for a unichip am im done

In the meantime, you could use a 130spec 1.8 ECU, which will give much closer fueling..... and the 2.0 MAF should make up any slight shortcomings!

 

Get an early ECU without the PATS system and it *should* be like a plug and play system LOL

 

I'll let you know in a couple of weeks if that's the case
