Im 16 and have had my car 4 little under a year now and have searched high and low for a new exhaust for my 1.4 LX. Many companys dont offer a backbox for this model and im open 2 ideas on where i can get on and how much Thanks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hi there i have a full stainless system from cat back up for grab its off a mk 7 gti which is an r reg i have looked at a n reg escort and the system looks as if it would fit would fit its a bigger bore and its quite loud it has a inward rolled tail pipe think its 3.5 looked good on it i am breaking it at the mo with fried so have 1.8 engine its up for £130 at min if you want pics ask tar Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Sean L Posted June 4, 2005 Share Posted June 4, 2005 peco do a dodgy lookin 1 (powermaster) if the exhaust exit is the same as the 1.3 (tip comes out far left of the rear bumper). Best thing to do is buy a universal backbox of your choice and an old 1.6 esc backbox from a scrappy. use a hacksaw and cut the pipe off from the box on the 1.6 1. next just weld that little bit of pipe you cut off onto the new backbox, and exhaust is sorted. you may have to cut a groove into your back bumper for it to fit tho but its the easiest way to replace it. Dave mk6 Posted June 5, 2005 Author Share Posted June 5, 2005 it is one where it comes out at the bottom left wierdly. i was thinking of a dual oval or just a single. i know the bumper will have to be change and im fine bout that so a straight pipe to exit the body quite far up from the bottom would be fine. so any ideas on cost?
