basskiddanny
OK, i think the 60mm drop i have is too low, so ive got some 35mm springs i got from Dave W. I am also a bit tired of how hard the ride is, i went in Robs_GTI's gti the other day and it felt so much smoother on the road, altrhough he says he hardly noticed a difference i noticed it a lot. So what is going to be my best combination to meet these points in order of priority: 1) Needs to get over speed bumps better than it does now 2) Smoother ride would be nice 3) Handling isnt THAT important because i drive sensibly as i can these days and don't really throw the car around corners too often, but do go around them faster than i should So my choices are: A) Standard Suspension - Not nice B) Gmax Shockies from 60mm kit with 35mm Avus Springs C) Standard shocks with 35mm Avus springs I was thinking if i had std shocks then it might be just as bad on speed bumps because it would be softer?? I dont know what makes the biggest difference to how rough the ride is though....springs or shocks? Any advice appreciated. Cheers
colin_j
Use standards shocks with 35mm springs mate! Then just make sure you haver bump stops and speed bumps wont be a problem!!

The Ince
bump stops only come in one size from ford, but it doesn't take 2 mins to shorten them (as I did)

basskiddanny
I was highly considering it but i was talking to marcus over PM and he said last time he did that his shocks went after about 1-2 months, i don't know if this was because they were exceptionally worn if thats just what happens?
