remote locking

ive just got all of the stuff to convert my central locking to remote, ie control box remote key sensor light loom, how do you programe the remote to your car and wear dose the loom plug into, also dose the control box only have two plugs going into it

 

 

its a 1998 3dr gti

its a 1998 3dr gti

ok i take it your talking about all the ford stuff,

aslong as youv got a fairly modern escort, then the chunky white plug on one end goes into the fuse box, and the lil green plug on the other end fits in the plastic dome sensor on the interior light,

the control box is a straight swap for the normal central locking box, it only has two plugs going in like the other boxes, and looks the same in pritty much every way to the others,

the light with the sensor is easy, plugs in like normal, just feed up the loom from the fuse box and plug it into the light.

and thats it,

to program it you need your red key,

turn the red key to position 1, leave it there for about 10 seconds,

the lil light under the oval clock will come on and stay on for about 1 minute,

turn the red key back to position 0, and then get your infra-red key

point it at the infra red sensor, and press and hold the unlock button (single arrow)

and then press the lock button 3 times, (do this like, press hold, for one second, release leave one second, and then repeat for the 3 times).

and that should be it,

in the one minute that you have, you can program upto 8 remotes,

iv got 3 becuase my local scrappy jut leave the keys in all the cars, (so i borrowed a few)
