Andy 3i
So to confirm, move pin 11 o the edis module to pin 4 on the ecuAnd you are unsure whether pins 58 and 59 are injectors 3 and 4Shielded cable? Such as?
SteveB
Right i've had a look into this... The differences between the Escort and DESK pin outs.. excluding lots of extra stuff on the Mondeo ECU you don't need on the Escort (or are not supported).. DESK/DEEP/DEWY ECU Pin 4 - Your tacho is driven today by pin 11 on the EDIS module. Pin 4 on the DESK ECU replaces this signal. Pin 51 - Injector 1 - Move from pin 58 on the early Escort loom Pin 52 - Injector 2 - Move from pin 59 on the early Escort loom Pin 55/56 - Crank Position Sensor - move from pins 5 & 7 on the EDIS module - use shielded cable Pins 58/59 - Coil pack - move from pins 10 & 12 on EDIS module I'm seeing some conflicting info with pings 58/59 for the injectors on the early Escort loom so you may need to verify those. Here's a pinout of the EDIS-4 module, excluding the pin 11 tacho output. http://megasquirt.free.fr/sources/MS/manual/ms2/edis4ew.gif I think that should be it. SteveB - anything I may have missed? Stu - I don't have the 2FCD diagram to hand, but that looks right to me. Andy - Stu is telling you the basic wiring differences, so if you follow his advice *in the order listed* you should be able to fire it up. For the injectors, 51/52 are correct on DEWY/DESK/DEEP - the issue is that your current injectors may not be on 58/59.

Andy 3i
Yeah, they're from Autodata I haven't had chance to try it yet...i will be trying next week when the weather improves. Hopefully it will be successful
Andy 3i
Right, I'm just about to try this...do I still need to remove the pats? Would it be the same as the mk6 guide?
Stu
Similar.. but what I posted above should cover it.
Andy 3i
Did this today and it works...had a bit of a dodgy running in period with the ecu but after that perfect. The only issue is that I didn't shield the crank sensor wiring which needs sorting. Massive thank you to all that helped
Stu
No worries. Glad it worked.
Andy 3i
It idles properly now which is a bonus. This while wire shielding...how do I go about it?
Stu
I'd chop it off another appropriate loom and splice it in somewhere.. You only want the shielding grounded at one end though, preferably the ECU end. Edited January 24, 2013 by Stu
Andy 3i
What would I be looking for to cut off? I've got about 4 looms that I can butcher. The wiring into the edis module for the crank sensor was wrapped separately in some sort of plastic wrapping? That's probably not it but worth mentioning. Stu
Yes, you're after crank sensor cable.
