10 Months MOT

40k 2.0 engine

Cosworth front brakes (recently fitted)

DE-EGR'd

DE-catted (cat included)

magnex cat back with 4" rolled out tip

5 RS wheels

4 Nearly New 195/50/15 toyo proxies4 tyres

1.6 box

new clutch

Mk6 RS2000 Recaro interior in Raven Flow pattern

RDS 6000 Ford CD player

Electric mirrors

Good stuff:

all the above, car is really well specced, nice to drive. I bought as a project and put the time (and money) into it to make it a really good mk6 escort

the car has just been serviced (comma oil, oil filter, NGK ptr5a plugs coolant fluish / drain and comma xtreme red collant filled up (5 year life span))

the engine was cambelted when fitted to the car (approx 3k ago)

I've spent hundreds of hours sorting all the niggly things out - vibrations, odd faults etc

I've spent about £1500 in the 8months i've had it fitting: New clutch, new gearbox, immaculate RS interior, 4 new toyo proxes tyres, plastic spats smoothed into the bumper

replaced the wishbones, drive shafts, cv joints fitted the magnex system and decat, replaced the inlet manifold, injectors maf and throttle body... the list goes on, plus my 2000 mile service intervals!

Also worth mentioning the car is a 1.8si so cheap insurance!

shell really good for age - no rust and just one or two car park dinks

Long Tax and Test!

The only thing that distinguishes this car from a real RS2000 is 5 insurance groups, 10bhp, it has larger brakes and the RS has lift up reverse

The car does have a party trick - it spits flames, no spark plus or butane required watch this video of it on the rolling road sun 02/12/07

Bad stuff: - mostly me being picky

one of the 6 RS wheels has a slight buckle - a potential buyer drove the car and didn't notice it - drove me mad, but its only one out of the set of 6 so not a big deal

As with all secondhand escorts the ISCV makes the cars idle slightly erraticly when cold - never stalls or cuts out though

there is the odd minor mark or stone chip - the shell has done 96k in 10 years - pretty much everything else has done much much less, all the drive train has been replaced this year

Rear bumper could do with a mopping or some paint renvoator as its not as shiney as the rest of the car

To summerise - fantastic daily driver - reliable, good looking, nippy and comfotable/well specced - more pics available on request

reason for sale - Started uni this year and bought myself a cheaper run around so i can afford to get on with my project mk5b

Engine

2.0 Series 2 Zetec 16v Silvertop Engine (approx 40,000miles)

Mondeo 2.0 management (ecu injectors sensors etc)

2.0 throttle body

2.0 lambda sensor

Early 1.8 130spec non EGR manifold

1.8 GTi Inlet manifold

Lucas Speed Leads

NGK spark plugs PTR-5a

K&N High Flow Panel Air Filter

Standard looks underbonnet even has 115ps sticker on the airbox wink.gif

De-CAT - Genuine ford cat included

Magnex cat back with 4" rolled in tip (sporty note, quiet)

Drive Train / Suspension

Low milage 1.6 box with fresh fluid and molyslip treatment

Uprated LUK clutch kit - recently fitted

replaced drive shafts/CV joints/Hubs

Gas shocks

-40mm Springs

Ford wishbones

Wheels / brakes

278mm Escort Cosworth Discs

Single Piston Genuine Escort cosworth Calipers (remanufactured by AMK) were as new when fitted a few months ago

the brakes are good enough to stop a 4wd 227Bhp cosworth so do a really good job of stopping the lighter Si without fading

Interior

Mk6 RS2000 Recaro interior in Raven Flow pattern - modern style recaros seats fanstatically comfortable and supportive

White Clock / Dials

RDS 6000 Ford CD player

Leather GTi Steering Wheel / Gear knob

Ford uprated speakers

Electric / Heated Mirrors

Electric Windows

Electric Sunroof kit (not fitted)

Exterior

Genuine Ford RS sideskirts

Genuine Ford RS front bumper

Genuine Ford RS spoiler

this might sound crazy but the four rs alloys with matching vgc toyo proxes 4's are on the car theres a spare in the wheel well with a dunlop on it and i have a 6th wheel in the boot with a pirelli tyre and spare centre cap as one of the wheel has a slight wobble... Wiggy drove the car and couldn't tell - but it annoyed me so i'm including an extra wheel :)

Hi ScORTED,

What is the car registered as on log book? 2.0L?

If i can sell mine soon, i may be interested as wanting a faster car. Will get some insurance quotes later!

Cheers

Tom

Tom>>> Still available mate - only just posted this thread

JP - no, manouvering on the wet grass with a new clutch and 8J wheels caused the slight loss of traction - and given that its my field and grassed i wouldn't be tearing it up ;)

Finishing work now, heading up the gym then ill be home. Checking money situation and then will let you know. Really want this car as my 1.6 is annoying me (speed). Will prob get a loan out if i dont have enough, can make money back selling my motor. Insurance is only about £400 more.

Will let you know this evening ScORTED!

Cheers
