EssexMikeSi
ive got a 1.8si which is standard engine wise apart from a magnex system ive just had put on it. since i had the system fitted, my car seems to have no back pressure at times, ie the revs take a bit longer to go down, and its got no holdin back wen i take foot off accelarator. it just carries on happily. what ya reckons the prob? i thought at first maybe my throttle cable needed replacing maybe. would puttin an induction kit on help compensate for loss of back pressure due to bigger bore exhaust? any good advice will be greatfully received
Colin
Could be a serious problem with either the catalytic converter, or a serious over fueling issue with the engine management system. My suggestion is NOT to make any more modifications, and take the car straight back to where you had the exhaust fitted, and have them examine it. Tell them it sounds like its blowing out and you wish for them to have a quick examine, and then when its up on the ramps, tell them more and more, till they sort it!
