to cut a very long story short.make sure you insure your van under a private use policy.I phoned around a lot of insurance companys to try and get a better quote than 1.8 diesel non turbo van 2001= £419.00 TPFT with swinton thats with no accidents/no claims convictions .no points and 9 years NCD.fcuk that i thought so on the phone i got apart from most of them craping them selfs when they hear van i managed well i thought had managed to find a company that will insure just about to pay via credit card when the bird on the phone read me the riot act on what i can,t do bla, bla, bla then i picked up on something she said and said repeat that last bit you know the bit you said about lossing my NCD because the policy your offering is commercail use.IN other words you can use all your no claims earned on the van but when you sell and want a car again you will have to start again.you can not switch the no claims back to a car. That was gladator or shall i say" glad to take your money ater"so after being polite and telling them where to put that policy i hung up..so its back to swinton where its insured as a private use van and i get covered to drive others cars..god its only a escort van not a necular sub..so van drivers make sure it a private policy..or it ain,t worth poop.. :censored: :vangry: :vangry: :nutter:

if you're trying to insure a commercial vehicle, then they would try and sell you a commercial policy.

The other down-side to some commercial policies, is that you're not covered third party to drive other cars (even courtesy cars), like you are on a normal motor policy.
