Scally Rally 2008 Ireland

Right then, advised by sidrick to start a thread so here goes.

 

Me, my brother and our mate frank did a rally through Ireland in a car that costs no more than 100 pounds to BUY. Its all in aid of charity however we raised 1400 pounds last year so we kind of took this one as a holiday. (i did get around 80 pounds in donations this year which i shall be sending to Diabetes UK soon)

 

So, the route started in Belfast on the Friday morning. Traveling over the north coast into Letterkenny via the giants causeway. Specacular driving roads and scenery beyond belief.

 

Day 2 Letterkenny to Westport. More brilliant scenery and tasks along the way to complete for the rally.

 

Day 3 Westport to Tralee through the wild, beautiful and magnificent Connemara mountains and Galway

 

Day 4 Tralee to Kinsale a route that took us up to two of Irelands famous Rally stages, Molls Gap and The Tim Healy pass.

 

Over all a great time. The roads are shoite but the scenery makes up for it. Brilliant people, cheeper fuel and continental road layouts (still drive on the left). Brilliant ale and met some really nice people.

I did Road2Rimini this year with a couple of mates, was absolutely amazing. Winnie the Nova in the furry Cav did Italy with us, didn't know the guys in the 924 had done Ireland too, they were caning it on the Italy one whenever we saw them!

 

They are incredible events, really come highly recommended from me too

Glad you enjoyed our irish hospitality, seen the coverage on RPM a few weks ago. know the spot of pics on mayo/galway border. do approx 60k miles a year over here roads are INTERESTING to say teh least.

I had my car off Karlio (the thinner one lol) who took the green 924. They were hard pushed to get back to the Mainland as their ferry had been canceled. Theyre a good bunch of lads, Karlio got some koni adjustables for my sierra but they're worth more than the cars worth!
