Conor
Evening all Now, Haynes states:23 slpine driveshafts are on 1.3 and 1.4 cars except automatics and cars with abs25 spline driveshafts on the above with auto or abs and all 1.6 and 1.8 cars I have a 1.8 petrol SI. Just been trying to replace the CV joint but found that the driveshaft is 22 spline (not even 23) as was the female part inside the CV joint and the outside part of the CV joint is 25 spline. The CV joint I picked up from shop has 25 inside and out, which I guess is a standard escort larger joint. My car for some reason isn't standard. Anyone had a similar problem? I'll ring up the parts shop tomorrow to see what I can get. Conor
MC_Bob
Confusing. I thought the only difference was with the IB5 and MTX gearboxes. I thought all 1.3, 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 petrols had the same shafts, and the RS2000 and diesel escorts had another?
