Knockhill events marshalled by me

Track marshalled my first day at knockhill yesterday,nearly 12 hours of standing up and sweeping crap off the track and pushing cars out of gravel traps..I was unable to take pics during racing due to marshalling commitment and the 3 pics i took during the interval in the paddock are on my phone and barely worth uploading.

 

All races were scottish championships of the following

 

Legends..These were awesome after the downpour, exiting the chicane with a wee slip angle that they held for good distances sometimes

XR2/ST150....these had a great crash right near me with about 4 cars involved...and in the first race one of the XR2s fell off the track and rejoined as the STs came through (they have a 25 second staggered start) and the XR collected an ST in a big way due to not waiting for a clear track before diving back on...not the cars pictured though.

Formula ford..these were driven very well with no incidents of note

Classic saloons and sports..No crahes here as the cars are privately owned and run and cherished. Seemed to me that all the red cars sounded epic.Especially the 240Z (very shouty and angry sound) and the Morgan,the red capri sounded fantastic (loud but no rasp just a V6 purr)

Saloons and sports..These included..2 Focuss with WRC kits on,cossie engines,fantastic flames and very very quick round the track (quickest by far)

Also a lambo owned by a local guy with too much money (he stuffs it most races and didnt finish either of the races.1st race pics provided,second race his bodged repair was deemed a hazard and he was black flagged 8 at half distance..

Fiesta in the pics apparently has evo running gear

Good photos, but your direct links need the 'new' bit deleting before they work.

 

Would love to do something like this. Couldn't think of a better day - watching a whole variety of cars racing and (maybe) getting paid?!

no pay..its voluntary work..maybe some people who officiate get paid (stewards? race control? scrutineers?) but marshalls get nothing apart from free access passes (one for me one for the wife,so hello scottish motor show this sunday) and a good lunch on race days...oh and its good for my work too.helps promotion prospects in the RAF if u have a duty outside the RAF that "helps others"

Were you marshalling on Saturday, as we were testing our duratec formula ford there. The scottish drivers dont seem to chuck it off as much as their english counterparts, was impressed with the lack of red flags.

 

The Fiesta IS running evo running gear, I had a chat with the driver and mechanics as they pitched up next to us in the paddock.

no not on saturday mate,i marshall with the SMRC which only does half a dozen or so events a year,other events are marshalled by other people...not sure who

If only there was a track around near me then I could do something like that, plus it would help my promotion prospects too
