a16x_tm
iv got a set of e38 17in team dynamic prorace 1.2`s for sale on here with 215/40/17 tyres.. but im having no luck selling them so im thinking of putting them on either my 32k mk6 1.8 si or my mk4 xr3i cabby (which are also both for sale lol)... iv been told 205/35/17 is the best match to the overall diameter but they are hard to get hold of and cost a fortune.. my local trusted tyre place reckons 205/40/17 are the best bet and he reckons they wont rub.. being fair with the prices tho he said 60 odd quid each for a budget or 80 odd quid each for a yokohama and he sed he will give me 100 back for my 215`s..cant be bad. so my question is what size tyres do you lot use on your 17s and any issues?? cheers

swebber23
Go for 205/45/17 or 215/40/17 A slightly higher side wall gives a better ride

ben__mk6
i have 205x40x17's, not lowered, and rub when i go over bumps, especially if theres any weight in the back.. getting them replaced tomorrow for £50 a tyre (budget obviously), even though kwik fit (robbing wankers) wanted £160 for 2 tyres!
