Chrissyboy
just a thought mate, it may be worth making some brackets to fit the speakers under the plastic. that way no-one knows you have them there plus no cutting the plastic I had a set of these I made from MDF, wish I kept the template now
Ringo_Mountbatten
This is what i did to fit my custom speakers: 1) Remove old speakers (obviously!)2) Drill holes in the plastic according to the positions of the holes in the speakers.3) Place bolts in the drilled holes and put a number of nuts on these bolts (before you've put the speakers in place). The number of nuts needed will vary, but basically keep adding nuts 'til they're lower than the plastic studs. 4) Put your speakers in place and secure them in place with more nuts. This method saves you having to cut off the plastic studs but you still end up with sturdily attached speakers.
paulr83
I made an oval adapter out of MDF and used the three original mounting holes and kept the Ford grills so it looks stealthy! Much better imo cos i can still have a normal shelf!!
MikesEscort
thanx i will have to try it soon. i already have 6x9 in the parcel shelf so i thought i would put another pair in the corners to replace the custom ones
