sidrick
Today I was editing group policy to roll out a background to a certain site on our domain. The background referenced a jpeg on a server on site. Location was: Server - C Drive (shared) - folder name (shared) - file name.jpg I've got it sorted now, but I'm curious as to why the path I needed to enter was \\server name\foldername\file name.jpg when the path included two shared folder. I know you cant have two shares in a path, such as \\server name\c$\folder name$\file name.jpg but I assumed \\server name\folder name$\file name.jpg would have worked, but it didn't as long as the dollar was there. Why? Edited January 8, 2010 by sidrick
Hezz
would've expected the same as you tbh, must be because it was a hidden share?
sidrick
Aye, it's down to it being two shares in the one path, but I was looking to get clarification on why it does this.
Hezz
is the "folder name" share hidden or not?
sidrick
If I recall correctly, it's not, which answers my question I suppose! Cheers
