Colin
Ok I know people have talked about it before and there was someone around these parts attempted it before, but I need to know, can it actually be done, along with all the other approprate bits and pieces? The thing is, if a decent black mk5b orion came along at the right price i'd be very tempted to purcashe it, and do the front end headlight conversion, just like dave of the mk5r did with his Estate, however, i'd much rather have the mk6 shape dash, caus eit looks nicer....... LOL! This is my alternative plan, but can it actually be done, and does anyone know of anyone who ahs done it successfully............. I'd consider it, but the shere amount of wiring work etc is bound to be huge to say the least....... Anyone? Just need to know............
chrissy_bwoy
wiring should not really be a problem as the multiplugs on fords are pretty much universla car to car of similiar age, the only probs i would see are the mounting points of the 2 dashes, and the lining up of the heater vents etc as the mk6 uses removable vents on the inside of the dash to facilitate moving removing the dash. the mk5/mk6 of daves on the mkvr is not a simple straight headlight swap its a complete front end job wings, bonnet etc etc. y not jus get a mk6 escort saloon (orion) would be a lot less hassle????? Colin
Thats the plan mate, but im think, what if I can't find a mk6 in black with a petrol engine............. They seem more than a bit rare over here, to be honest, i don't think ive ever even seen a mk6 orion!!!!!!

paulr83
As for the mounting points, i think they are the same, the only difference with multiplugs is that Ford changed them from mk5 to mk6. The rear fogs is on the right hand side of the steering wheel as apposed to the left, so u may need to make the cable longer!! If u have front fogs and heated fs if may be more of an arse!
