sunroof switch wiring diagram

So all you need to do, is add a power feed to the close section of the switch ?

The electric window switch uses the same colour codes IIRC ( you can even illuminate one for the sun roof )

This is for wiring the one touch down relay, but i should think adding the feed from your alarm could be the same process

Right this is where you need to start cutting wires. First up is the easy one, cut the solid black (ground) wire that runs to pin 5. Now reconnect it in a Y junction with the original two pieces and the black wire from the relay assembly. I suggest crimping the connections as it offers a quick and easy way of doing so, but use small crimp connectors!

Now on pin 7 you will find a heavy Violet cable with a white/yellow streak. Cut this one and again reconnect it in a Y junction together with the Violet cable with the Orange streak from the relay assembly. This is the Ignition Fed 12V Constant supply, and you can check this with a volt meter against pin 5 (Ground)

Now cut the yellow cable with the violet streak in it (Pin 4), this is the down feed to the motor. You will now have two ends to this cable, which I'll call the switch end and the loom end for clarification. You need to connect up the Yellow/Violet cable from the relay assembly to the Loom end. The Yellow/Green cable from the relay needs to be connected to the switch end.

hello there if you are using the sunroof motor from an escort it is not possible to connect to alarm to make it auto close due to tilt and slide movment they have. Or it will simply open to tilt if already closed :(. I have found away around this using ford parts and modding them but motor needed is over £900 from fords I do them ready to go for £110 if you are fitting it via spare output's so it only closes if you press output on alarm. This is poss with standard motor but not auto closing from any open direction with standard motor i will add vid of mine opening and closing with alarm tomoz to show you.

it seem simple to

one isolator switch to stop the motor

one ford brown relay v23073 from any ford to bypass the switch with ignition on

when the sunroof is closed the switch isolator the motor from the supply

when you turn the ignition on the relay connects the isolator switch so you can use as normal

the only thing is what switch to use something small and simple

As i siad before as soon as motor moves from pin switch it will stop working that direction unless you build an ic controller for it.

I spent about 3/4 months working out how to do it properly mate and nearly gave up untill i found the other motor and modded circuit for use with escort.

It now works sweet as and closes with alarm and opens when i press button to open it if you do manage to mod the standard motor you would also need 2 timer's to control how long it powered for etc . I know noone else has managed as mine and my mates escort cosworth's are the only 2 in the world with it fitted :). it also can be hooked to deadlocking so sunroof doesnt work when deadlocked even if they tried rewiring :).

If you want to discuss any idea's you have mate to see if i tried first drop me a pm cheers steve

thats what the relays for so whan the ignition is on the relay will bypass the isolator swithch which will let you ues the sunroof switch as nomal

mate you are missing my point the sunroof goes 2 ways so how are you going to tell sunroof where it is ie open fully tilted or inbetween the sunroof motor is simply not capable of closing without using the bits i did and modding them if you manage to get it to work then done well mate but i think you are wasting your time mate as you are missing biggest problem :(
