lowering / coilovers doesn't often make for good handling on an every day road car

what would you suggest then, it needs a bit lowness for the look really. a;lso what would you do to increase engine performane

i saw one guy with a focus listed on piston heads he had his 1.8 tuned up to 137 bhp on a rolling road.

yeah you can tune the engines but its best to decide what you want in the begining and plan how to get there.

as for the suspension i think the zetec is spot on for normal use, i'd just like it lower and the eibach springs are highly reccomended for the focus so maybe some of those coupled with st170/zetec shocks (they're the same) unless you want to go low low low which is always a massive handling/comfort compromise

Focus is one of the best handeling cars in its class when it came out due to its indipendent rear suspension,

what wheels are you putting on it dan, you'l have to show one sometime

btw the zetecs are a great trim, ghia is ok tho,

i've drove a 1.6 zetec se focus and that was faster than my 1.6 escort by miles :)

update on freddie

ok the sunstrip clearly doesnt go! it is coming off, new one in post now i went with a colour coded sunstrip (state blue)

also had a go at spraying my wheels white and replacing the mp3s. also over the weekend me and a mate ha da go at window & light tinting, it went from bad to worse on the rear window, so we left that and just did the rear sides. which came out ok! for first attempt anyway. heres the pics.
