connecting amp turn on to standard headunit

Hi,

 

Quick question because im in a rush! lol. Im fitting an amp to an m reg escort with has a 97 tape player and cd changer fitted. They don't want to change the headunit so I have used high level convertors for the audio. My question is, where can I connect the amp turn on wire to? I wanted to go it to the ignition cable on the headunit but i cant find a wiring diagram anywhere for which wire is which.

Any switched live will do the job.. just get a volter test (light) and stab various wires until you find one that goes on/off with the key. I'd recommend putting an inline fuse (5A or less) with this though. Edited November 1, 2010 by Stu
