laptop graphics

We'd need at least the make and model of the laptop... there are literately millions of different models of laptop.

I'd say it's fairly rare not to have the graphics card built onto the motherboard on a laptop these days.

If you cannot find the card (if it's not built in) via the excess at the bottom then you could try looking under the keyboard. It's usually as easy as taking out the cover above the keyboard and unscrewing some screws underneath to release the keyboard (being careful of connecting cables - usually delicate ribbon cables).

Good luck!

Still no make and model info...

IE: Dell Inspiron 7000

Graphics Processor Intel GMA HD - That screams onboard with shared memory to me... Which could be bad news as far as upgrades.

If all fails, you may be able to share more memory with the GPU to improve things via the BIOS

Looks like it's an onboard setup (from looking at motherboard shots).

Mean your either stuck with what you have or use an external card (which will no have anywhere near the power of the onboard, thus pointless).

Being Dell, the BIOS will be limited anyway.

Check through the usual Dell/Intel utilities to see if there is a software method to increasing the VRAM.
