John
i feel a right muppet posting this here cos i'm sure i'm gonna get comments about why am i asking u guys seeing as i'm a mechanic and all that but i'm just after some help really........... i know a few of you on here have had the CAT let go on you, did it make a whole lot of difference to the performance when it went? coming back from yorkshire last night gave my car some therapy but it really didn't seem all that responsive, i put it down to loosing acceleration through the 17s at first but surely they aren't going to make that massive difference?! also noticed when i did back off and slow it back down again as i was coming through a little vilage near to home it was really smelling bad, then when i parked it on the drive about half an hour later there was still a really bad smell which to me smells like the cat just wondering if any of you have had a similar kinda thing with yours at all? there is deffinatly something not right with that car, just gotta find what it is that trip up to yorkshire sure cost me plenty! never drive through the moors when u have lowered suspension and low profile tyres

John
mine doesn't rattle thats whats confusing me a little. i know the car has got to be over fueling a bit cos of the way it's running which is making me think that could have stuffed the cat

Jescort
The cat could be blocked, best thing to do is take it off and see if any of the ceramic brick falls out, or if the cat has broken up it might have been blown into the mid box and blocked it up.
