Blimey
Every now and then the needle of the speedo gets really wobbly, it tends to b wobbling between 2-4miles per hr any1 know why ? (I dont mean the speed it between 2-4mph, but thats the spaceish of the wobble, like between 30-34, 45-49 if u get what i mean). When it starts happening it doesnt matter how fast im going, it still does it
B19 JUB
try a speedo cable first mate as mine does the same.thats the cheapest option,i think its that on mine cos i blew the diff up on my box so had new one under warranty but needle does it every now and again
John
mine does the same, seem to remember it being a problem with the speedo head on these motors, not gonna worry about it though who needs a speedo

Mr_Tom
Yeah i have the same problem, been told is the little thingy what ever its called that moves inside the speedo cable and it might be sticking so at sum point gotta take it off and put some lubrication down it see if that fixes it. Me good old gramps reckons and hes not usually wrong (mind you with old age u neva know) he will prob do it if i ask him nicely with my help of course let ya know
Blimey
Well i aint got a clue where all the bits and pieces are to adjust/lubricate etc, so i'll ask em at the garage to do it when i go for service & mot. As long as it aint some huge problem i can live with it, just my mates who get worried, wobbly needle and my cheap gear knob rattling at 95 scares em
dkey1
Can happen if you have a tight curve in the cable
Mr_Tom
Yeah true dkey1 I unclipped mine (simple it runs along the back of ure engine if you have the bonnet up you can see it running horizontally at the back) I just unclipped mine to see if it made a difference it did, but the wobble has come back. Chris_1.8Si
got the same prob with mine, however it only fluctuates by maybe 2 mph... My mate had a peugeot 206 that did it about a year ago, only his used to fluctuate by about 20mph!!! i asked him once how he knew how fast he was going, he said he just stuck his head out of the window, opened his mouth and waited to see how long it took for his tongue to dry! lol!
