Len
Hi I have a H reg mk5 Escort Cabriolet 1.6 8v EFI, its been running badly and I have been told by a local garage that it is the engine coolant temp sensor. The garage ordered the sensor from fords and when it arrived it was the wrong one so ford sent the alternative and that also is the wrong one, the guy at ford said they were the only ones listed for the car so we tried to order one from a different supplier and they sent the same one as ford did. Has anyone come across this before or know where I can get one from. Many Thanks Len
supersport
which one do you need? the dash temp one or the one on the thermostat housing? not hard to getwrong on a cvh engine.
Len
The mechanic just said it is the one that is fitted in the inlet manifold, he has had the car for over a week and says he cant source the part. I find it odd that he would be having so much trouble with but he says its something to do with it being an EFI engine????????
escort4x4
That won't be the coolant temp sender as there is no coolant flowing through the inlet manifold. The coolant temp sender is on the thermostat itself. The one on the bck of the manifold measures inlet temps
