my 2.0l zetec decided to mangle a big end bearing so ive had enough and im breaking the car.

shell has been dry stored since new.

22k genuine miles with proof.

3door with no sunroof ideal for racing.

no rot, no rust, no dents, no scrapes, fully treated underneath, waxoiled, all original panels and paint. (not concours as its 1980's paint but very shiny still).

log book says 2.0l.

contact me for more info but its £1000 for rolling shell and mint bonnet and boot, power steering setup fitted, spax suspension, recaro interior and a few more little bits and bobs but most other parts wil be removed to get my money back.

private plate or rollcage not included.

Thats a daaamn shame. Real nice car.

Sure you actually WANT to strip it? - Low mileage 2.0L zetec from a breakers would be no more than £200? couple of weekends making it look fresh/bolting on your existing escort zetec bits, then dropping it in?

Just a thought.

Seems a real pity. Suppose if you've lost the love for it though...

what do you call low milage? the silvertop 2.0l is 20 years old soon so youd be lucky to find one with less than a 100k miles and then if you did it would most likely be not genuine miles!

mine had done 44K when it wrecked!

you may have seen low milage ones for 200 about ten years ago but now they just aint any left, new are £800 i believe but that then needs converting to escort stuff!

i'd love to just drive the car but its never been like that, ive spent 90% of the ten years ive owned the car working on it and about 9% storing the car and i recon a whopping 1% actually driving it.

doo the maths and you come up with the conclusion that its not much fun for me!

infact the car has been more like a depressant lol
