hi im after advise if anyone can help, I have a 2.0 silvertop engine which im trying to run with my desk ecu but I don't have any engine loom, can any pre pat ecu loom i.e 1.8 or 2.0 be used or does it have to be the 2.0 pre pat loom? im running the engine with a 38dgas so I just need the crank sensor and coil pack leads.

thanks

If you just want it for spark only then any internal-EDIS loom should work.

There's a guide here on how to use a 96 onwards loom with a DESK ECU: http://www.escortevolution.co.uk/forums/in...showtopic=49026

You could use one, adapt it accordingly, and just ignore the injector connections.

Alternatively a 94-95 Fiesta Si 1.6 loom is a direct swap, but you'd need to keep the ECU in the engine bay probably.

Bear in mind that the ECU will still need some kind of load signal, be it TPS or MAF to actually give you proper spark control. If you don't give it either, then you'll just get a fixed 10 degrees and you may as well just use an external EDIS module on its own!
