This really is disappointing because this has been a reliable family workhorse for years.

Flame Red, electric mirrors , 40,000 (ish) on the clock. I believe that it is probably correct because the car had been in storage for more than 8 years when I bought it, body in good condition, minimal rust- nothing to be alarmed at all. When I took ownership i changed the brakes (RS2000 front calipers, full disc brake beam on the rear), sorted out the engine mountings (the old ones had perished a little as it had stood), had the cylinder head rebuilt professionally - it has had only 20,000 miles since, replaced the heated front screen, installed new exhaust and cat, new oil and fuel filters, ultrasound cleaned the injectors. Also replaced the wheels - now has 5 x alloy rs2000 15", in quite good condition, very little damage to the rims. Tyres all legal, or better. Spent more than £1300 cleaning it up and getting it right.

I also have a spare set of front and rear dampers and springs from good RS2000 available as well.

Problems.

- 600 miles ago the fusebox assy has started to go. Did the usual thing- resoldered connections, but its come back again. The symptoms are the blower fails (but will come back after the car goes over a bump), windscreen stopped warm up, lumpy cold start. I've checked the valves, replaced the plugs. There is no black smoke. Oil is good. Smells fine. Plugs clean. No sludge. Just misfires when when cold. It started it fine today. On a warm day the misfiring disappears!

Local dealer ran through it three weeks ago and said that fusebox is the primary culprit. The ECU checked out fine. Seems to be good fuel pressure on the injector rail- it could be the cold start adjustment has gone u/s but all the issues point back to the fusebox.

Oh yes. Mirror was broken off by some idiot - but have colour coded spares for each just havent had the time to fit them. And the central locking using the key on n/s door is erratic, but the car will lock fully from drivers door just fine. And two of the tyres have a very, very slow puncture.

Anybody who knows how to fix the electrics will have a solid, economical car which has been well looked after. I havent got time to source a ford fusebox, mess with all the crazy things that happen if the wrong one is adopted. So as it has the above faults being sold as spares or repair.

First genuine offer over £150, over paypal, no warranty, to pick up next week from Whitstable, Kent will be accepted. The add ons must be worth more than that easily!

Please dont waste my time. A genuine offer, followed by payment, and its yours. One should be able to drive it away, although the MOT has run out, so has the tax.

I will email photos if required - but frankly this shouldnt need photos. It is a solid 5 dr body.

Thank you escort evolution for being there. I'm sorry this one had to go. but I hope it will be bought by someone who has the time to get it working again. Thanks to JDM and others for being so helpful when I was bringing it back up to spec.
