mikes-fat-arsed-estate
Hi I have a 1.8tdi I know it's not going to any races but its always felt slightly underpowered & not the 90bhp that its claimed to have , I removed the intercooler to to check for splits ect but all was fine I cleaned all the crud out & refitted. I then thought about the maf sensor so I did a dummy run flooring it but only takin to 2.5k in every gear change then again with the maf plug disconnected there was no change in the engine note but I felt it was abit better picking up to speed possible plebow effect or a duff maf? But I was under the impression if the maf was gone it would be running lumpy?
Danzetec
It would feel different with the MAF unplugged because the ECU will swap to safe mode and make it overfuel They do get crapped up but it would be an idea to get a code reader, wipe the MAF fault code and see if it returns
