mikes-fat-arsed-estate
hi all i know in modern cars the cts tells the ecu if the cars cold and to add more fuel ect & can affect mpg when they fail ect but is this the case on a 2000 tdi ford escort? or does it only tell the fan to cut in when getting to hot? thanks

stoo2000
Escorts usually have two temperature sensors, one for the ECU and one for the rad-fan, however it's been a long time since I've looked at a diesel so can't say for sure that it's the same. Andy 3i
As stoo said, one controls the fan and one tells the ecu the collant temp so it can adjust fuelling etc.
