MarkEscortGTi
Some of you may know I´m importing a set of chrome 19"s when i go to Florida in June. They will be 7.5 poss 8 x 19" I have been searching for Coilovers for a 98 5 door escort gti, but no luck, does anyone know a definate company that make em or know any contact numbers or web addresses. If i have no luck with coilovers will I be able to just get some Koni Adjustable and put the 19"s on???The 19" will only be used for shows and 17" be put on for normal everyday use!AAny help will be extremely appreciated! Thanx
Flat_Steve
I´m pretty sure it´d take a lot of work to get a set of 19´s to fit an Escort, the suspension turrets would protrude into the wheel and stop them from physically going on. Even with coilovers it´s possible there still won´t be enough room ´cos 19´s are huge! I´m not saying it can´t be done (if you can get 19´s on an R5 you can do anything!), but it´ll be hard, and expensive stuff! Still, hope you do it, would love to see an Escy on 19´s m8! ;-)
Cappy
go to www.Leda.co.uk They can make dampers and springs to your requirements. 19s on a scort.. you are a brave man. A 90 degree right turn will become a 3 point turn Amit
Escort GTI
I think you mean www.leda.com because the other one is for playstation bits
MarkEscortGTi
Yeah! 19"s are coming! They are gonna be Chrome Concept neepers or Coniche! They will only be used for Shows so MOT´s are no fear.... One of my best mates K aka Nova on 19"s is gonna let me try his 19"s on, but they are 8 / 8.5 x 19"s so they will fuk up! lol I do think 7.5 x 19"s will go on, as i know 8" wide wheels go on, and a 19" wheel with 35 profile tyre aint that much bigger than an 18" and a distant mate has had a set of 18" on with a bit of room and no rubbage! So I´m hopeful! I´m just hoping if coilovers are a no no, it´s guna be adjustables, and im hoping they will still go on with these!!!! If not, I´ll have to go down to 18"s!But I wanna be first escort on 19"s along with first 5 door door escort on 19"s in the world, if not U.K! lol We´ll see! well, cheers 4 the help, any more help will be good! RS2000
I think you´ll find it´s not the right offset for an escort, Ring a local alloy wheel dealer and ask what the right offset for an escort is (i think it´s 35mm) and then find what car those wheels came off and ask them the offset for that car. Then get some spacers to make up the difference :]
