JIMBO
I have my sub and amp and speakers running of my standard radio, My mate gave me the adapter to wire it all to the radio. But when I turn the radio or the car off there is a thud sound comming out of the sub any ideas how i can stop it making this noise. I though it may not be earthed properly but Im not sure. anybody got any ideas. CheersJimbo

Scotteh
think its usually the power, not 100% sure tho
benc
Sounds very much like a bad earth matey. Wack a multi meter on it and see if it drops voltage on the thud. Is it when the car is stationary or moving or what??Also...where have you earthed it to? Ben.

benc
hmmm strange....well it could always be the amp remote lead that comes from the H/U to the amp. Try taking it off the amp, and gettin a bit of wire and bridging the +12V with the Remote terminal on the amp. Turn the H/U on and then off, see if it thuds then. If still does, then like i said before, check with multi-meter. If not, then just sounds like your remote amp turn on, on the H/U is a bit iffy. You'll have to wire it upto a +12 with a switch or a +12 that becomes live when ignition is on. Hope thats clear! lol Gis a shout on MSN if ya want m8, am on quite regularly. benc00@hotmail.com Ben. sextons
if the remote from the standard head unit doesnt have enough amps to swtich the amp on why not put a step up relay in line will fix it straight away cost you about a quid from maplins comes with full fitting instructions as well. sexcort
check ur connections and the rca lead if you have any, also check the positive and negatives are ok. should sort it. same thimg happened to mine - the rca s were loose, and finally if that doesnt work, check the subs hope that helps
