Leicester_Lad
what is the best offset and size to fit 18 inch rims to an escort with out arch work
Dean-o
i was under the impression that if fitting 18's the arches had to be rolled for the rears
plumber60
i was under the impression that if fitting 18's the arches had to be rolled for the rears i thought the same but hasnt kev got some crazy offset on his arospeed's and no archwork? think its something like 45-
Rob84
Kev's got ET45's but the spokes on his wheels are incredibly close to his calipers and also incredibly close to the inner arches. Lambo has got some 18's and no arch work, not sure on his offset though
Ex-Finesse
Just buy a crazyass low offset and use spacers until it doesn't foul the inner arches. If it rubs, roll 'em, don't be scared
Cossie Dave
I've got the same size, make and offset as kev, we both have no bother with scrapage and have no arch work
sime73
thought kev had his arches done
Ex-Finesse
Don't think so, but Lambo has to be safe
K3V HA
thought kev had his arches done No mate, nothing! But watch that ya calipers dont catch on the front, cos if it wasnt for the design of mine, theyd catch! But i have got Wilwoods so standard ones may be ok
Lambo
If the standard off set for a scort is 38mm then thats what my off set is, fronts are fines, loads of clearence for arch and calipers and rears are also fine, however i used to often have loads of band gear in my car so had arches done just incase, even though i had it loaded before it was done and had no problems. Not a big job to get the rears rolled slightly though.

Ex-Finesse
cool so in the end what is the best offset u recon to get ???/ Anything between ET45 - 42. But may well rub the inner arches on large bumps and on tight turns. Go for this region, then space out if there's any catching. Much more difficult to reduce offset innit! Cossie Dave
How much have you got yours lowered kev? I have 60mm springs and shocks and i don't get any catching, I normally have 2 people in the back as well, it only starts to catch with 3 in the back
