1.6 Orion Ghia engine, in a mk5 Escort

Hmmm. I´d love to attach a picture right now, but unfortunately i dont have any!

Here´s a bit of clue-finding/advice-finding on your forum. Been on it today at work, and it seems really good!

I have now, a 1.6 Orion ghia engine in my mk5(.5) escort. There isnt really a direct question here, just want to learn a bit more about it, and what i can do.

So far... I know it´s a CVH engine, it´s not injection, has Kent cams, and twin K&N air filter. The engine is from about F/G reg, and time was spent on it.

With all this chip malarkie, (beyjoo chips?) will mine have one do you all rekon? or could i fit one? or is it only in relation to injection engines?

A few things need to be done on it, but if you could offer a bit of advice on how to change it for the better, i´d be grateful.

Also, what radiator would be best? i have one at the moment, but it´s hanging off (dont ask!) Would i be okay with getting a mk5(.5) 1.6 radiator? or would i need to affix the 1.6 ghia radiator? would it matter?

All in all, i need to decide whether it;s worth spending the money on.

I got me a big box in the back (& Amp), tinted windows, some simple but fat alloys. got a week off next week, and wondering if the whole things worth spending the money on? or shall i just get another car?

I have put on: new battery, new clutch, new starter, new engine (/different anyways), 2x ball joints/wishbones either sides, engine mounts, plugs/leads, exhaust (crappy cutnshut one) and some other stuff.

Better the devil i know than the one i dont?

Thanks for any help,

Kronic
