scortpower
i have just occured a problem yesterday and have noticed that the long driveshaft cv boot has ripped open this is the rubber boot right next to the gearbox. is it still called a cv boot how much do they roughly cost and how easy is it to do. ploppy
to replace the boot and grease, cheap as chips. to do the whole cv joint, i'd get a whole joint from a scrappy. i mite be able to sort u out a whole joint for about £40 whereas the joint itself may cost hundreds to get done. (labour in taking it off the drive shaft etc).
Mk6 Si Ross
sounds like the inner cv boot, will cost about 8 or 9 quid from local factors, will be a split n glue type so you don't have to take the driveshafts out to fit
