Muzz
My sub aint working. There is power going to the amp but the sub does nothing. It is a shitty JBL 1000watt one, been running from a 400watt amp. Do I need a new one?
The Ince
u checked the leads mate? including the one to the sub inside the box! EDIT: It aint blown as it would make a very dodgy papar thump if it had and not be silent so it'll be a wire somewhere on it. Muzz
Changed the wires, it worked for a bit but now it only works if you apply pressure to the sub with your hand etc. Any ideas?
The Ince
Changed the wires, it worked for a bit but now it only works if you apply pressure to the sub with your hand etc. Any ideas? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>it's knackered, lol, could repair it if you were able to remove the cone n magnets from behind it and delpolarise them by applying an alternating magnet field to them, but to put it back to gether your'd have to replace the polypropolene (sp) outter, thus meaning there's no point in attempting it. If your lucky wiring it the other way around may help it, but its very unlikely.
RickH
Go to your local ICE dealer, say to him you killed your JBL sub and you want some new gear. Quote the following, "Mr Ice man, i would like 2x12" Audio systems subs and a set of audio system components. In addition i would like the smallest of the 3 audio system amps to power the components, and the larger to power the subs. Please make sure that it is all the top line gear aswell thanks" Not only will Mr Ice man be getting extremely moist at this point, you will also need to empty your wallet. However it will be well worth it !
