F1ACK
Some might remember the RX7 I've been using as the Voodoo demo car, with the 10 day Install challenge a few months back. Unfortunately on the way back from the ModWorld unit at a cross road some woman pulled out into the side of it in a 106, not massive damage and no one hurt which is the main thing, but still bloody annoying The towing eye of the other car did the damage, its taken a chunk out of the wheel, bent the steering rack, and put a crease down the front wing and door. To make things worse, the insurance company came to pick it up yesterday, ploughed the standard height front bumper into the ramp on the lorry before deciding they would have to go back for a different lorry! Not sure how long it will take to fix, as they said the parts needed aren't available in the country :x And what car have the insurance company replaced it with in their like for like policy? A Renault Megan!!! 280BHP down to 80!
marsbar1973
Gutted for you. Its annoying when so much hard work gets whacked. Insurances give cr4p cars, we went from the Vectra to a Nissan Micra! Couldn't fit the kids in, so made them replace it. Got a 206, not much better! Hope its sorted soon for you. Flat_Steve
Sorry to hear that, looks pretty superficial but as you say there's damage under the body I'd use the accident as an excuse to switch those sixteens for a nice shiny set of 18's though Edited December 7, 2005 by Flat_Steve
neil
Bad luck mate. Are they deffo going to get it repaired then?
F1ACK
As far as I know, its not a cheap car to write off and is fully comp insured so I expect they will. Wheels are staying for the moment, keeping it as standard as possible for now. Had 3 calls from the garage, 1st not being able to get the wheel off, as they couldn't find the locking wheel nut key (in the glove box). 2nd call, got the wheel off, but didn't know how the suspension was supposed to look to know what was bent, don't see how thats our problem. 3rd call, your car won't start, they were told that if they start the engine and stop it straight away it won't start again as the engine dumps in petrol to start it up and floods the engine for the next start if it isn't burnt off. Bloody usless garage!!!

F1ACK
aye thats the main thing, cars can be replaced. Don't think the damage is that bad, it might be writtern off though if it will take them too long to get the parts.

ScORTED
Not really the phone calls you want to hear when you have entrusted someone with your car and dont have any choice where to take it not true unless you surrender the car to your insurance company you can have your car sent to any garage for the repair work...
