fat_boz Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 surely if the car is newer the premium goes up???? i got about £1000 for a year on a NEW fiesta/focus etc. and £1200 for a 1998 GTI Scort then £1400 for a 16v 1.8 Si escort 1998!???? norwich union look good though cause for a Si 1.6 16v 1998 it was like £2144 at CIS OUCH
Stormin_1.6_auto_WRC Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 insurance is really strange. Its more expensive for me to be insured on a toyota MR-2 mk2 (£4000 - £4500) then it is on a TVR Chimeara (£3500 - £4000) and a merc CLK 230 (£1700 - £2000) Ive got to wait for two more years to get a decent premium so lots of waiting and careful driving me thinks
furry Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 the older cars have a higher insurance grouping you divvy
Evv Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 norwich union look good though cause for a Si 1.6 16v 1998 it was like £2144 at CIS they are very good would recommend them to anyone
Mk6 Si Ross Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 Newer cars have more standard security features such as deadlocks, alarms, immobilisers so fall into a lower catagory whilst the value of the car is going to be a lot higher than an old banger so ins premiums fall somewhere in the middle on that one!
