Milz
Hi, ive got a 1.4 CVH CFi engine and its suffering from bad idling. When the car is stationary the revs often drop and the car cuts out. Also somtimes when ive got my foot on the clutch the car cuts out. Has ne1 got any ideas how to solve this?? I really wanna sort this out as its really annoying! JonC
step1 clean out your idle control valve with carb cleanerstep 2 remove bracket from throttle body locate allen key adjustment screwwith the engine running make sure the engine idle is 1000rpm and nothing more or less... thats how i did it if thats too complicated try telling a garage to do those things for you, or get a hanes manual and work out what im talking about
Milz
Does ne1 know where the idle control valve is on a 1.4 CVH CFi, cos ive looked in Haynes n cant find it also ive been told that my car aint got an idle control valve. If this is wrong can ne1 tell me where the idle control valve is, a picture would be great. Thanx in advance!
900ss
If yours is single point then it has the idle controlled via a stepper motor, that’s what controls how fast the car idles I think you’ll find with your single point unit. Remove the Air Filter and you should be able to see it bolted on the side of the injector body. It looks sort of like a largish cylindrical valve with a small multi plug and loom section attached.I think they are non repairable units btw so I don't think you'll be able to do a lot with it. Milz
Thanks alot for the help and the diagram mates. So i cant really do anything bout it, what if i replace the "part 5" from the diagram will that solve the problem or not. If not what should i do? 900ss
If not then the only option would be to burn the car lol :] You need to take it to a garage to get them to check the unit before you waste your money
