T9BY G
Found out about a hidden diagnostics test yesterday from one of JonC's mates. Some people might know about it already, but ive never heard about it. You have to press the mileometer reset button while turning the key to the ignition position.Keep the button held down until 'test' appears in the screen. Then keep pressing the button to go through the options. These include:Digital speedo in both mph and km (totally accurate - shows you how far out your normal speedo is out)Digital rev counterMPGError codesEngine tempBattery voltageoil pressuremanufacturing test datebulb testgauge test I did it yesterday and found out im actully going about 2-5 mph slower than i thought i was depending on the speed Still its a good toy
JonC
is there a white faced digital speedo? i got the old fashioned one no digi mileage...im keen to see what speed im doing, i reckon the speedo will still be out, as its getting the same reading from the gearbox as the needle does... All i do know is, with 15" standard wheels i was able to hit 135mph with 17" alloys i hit 125mph at the same rev's acording to an online check thing im out by 8% need it calibrating.. T9BY G
Although it gets the same reading, normal speedos always read a few miles an hour over, just to make sure they are not underreading. The digital speedo gets the exact data from the wheels. You could always buy a white dial kit to go with it, cos i don't think any came as standard with white dials and digital mileometer. This trick also works in Fiestas and any Ford with a digital display.
