McRic
Just some pictures from a recent track night I took. Still practising with the camera need to master getting the cars closer in the pics without losing focus! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/10-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/9-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/8-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/7-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/6-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/5-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/4-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/3-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/2-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/1-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/20.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/19.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/18.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/17.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/16-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/15-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/14-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/13-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/12-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/11-1.jpg
danposs86
What settings were you using? Edited October 9, 2007 by danposs86
McRic
I had it set on S with a shutter speed of 400. For what I had read up on slowing the shutter speed down is the best way to capture the movement of the wheels/vehicle and panning the best way to create motion of the back ground. My main problem is clearly the cars are too far away in the shots!
danposs86
Hmmm, i don't see why it wouldnt focus when zoomed in. Was the ISO on normal? Would it focus on the tarmac (ie, before the cars took to the track? I trick i use is to get the car i want to take a photo of in the center of the small rectangle in the viewfinder, then press and hold the button half way down following the car with the camera, keeping the car in the rectangle, then press fully when you want the pic and after it has focused. The camera focuses faster if you have already allowed the camera to 'get used' to the distance and light by focusing on the tramac at the distance from you that the cars will be passing. If that makes sense
MIKE W
They are good pics mate, as you say they would be better if the cars were closer....You seem to have mastered making the background blurred so you can tell the car is moving and not looking stationary as mine always seem to come out lol I need to get myself to some kind of track day so i can have a practice..... McRic
Makes sence mate aye, never tried just the tarmac to get the camera used to it as you say. I too use the rectangle, half press, full press. Am I using the correct zoom method by just pressing the W & T buttons? ISO has 200 next to it whatever that means? I don't know how to adjust ISO or what it even does. I really need to get my nose back in the manual to suss more stuff out. This is the only focused zoom shot I've ever achieved and can't remember how I done it http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0803/escyghia/2.jpg
danposs86
The ISo can be adjusted in the menu that appears when pressing the silver 'F' button (same place as the chrome setting i love so much lol). As Mike said, you got the blurred background well, i need to make mine more like that, the Renault photos were all on auto cos i was lazy haha. Ooooo another thing, you didnt have macro mode on by mistake did you as that can mess up focusing when viewing far objects.
McRic
Nah wasnae set on macro, what should ISO be set at and what is it exactly? Mine won't just go to auto setting as it doesn't highlight as an option to select. Just noticed my camera was set on auto focus could that have been the problem when zooming? Maybe need to set it to manual or is that just gonna complicate matters lol. I take it the chrome seting you like just brightens the colours you are taking the picture of? As for the others things, cant remember off the top of my head and not getting the camera out now lol Have a read of the manual again, lost count of the times i keep looking at it haha, still, starting to remember some of it now. danposs86
Got Photoshop? If so do a batch proccess. Simple open the file you want, find the actions panel, make a new one and it will record, then simple resize your pic, add a border and signature, export the file, close the file then stop recording. Then do a batch proccess. Might do a guide on how to do this lol.
