dark-ryder
Shame, I think everyone needs to realise that if you have a crash in an escort....99% of the time it will be a write off. is it an escorts fate to be hit??? as there hundreds in the auto breakers and majority are accident damage?? this annoys me why should i be outa pocket because some t*at didint look properly ###### ii could get this repaired for about 200 pound using the auto breakers etc.. so i dont wanna be outa poket and im quite fond of the car , and also 15th of december 2005 , is when i rolled my fiesta on black ice .... some folk arent ment to drive i think im one of them i have had 5 cars in 3 years 3 were non fault accidents, 1 was ice and one was a hire car again non fault and now this... im surely gonna get a slagging at work on monday i know how you feel, no one at work will get in the car with me now! lol i have been drving just over a year and have 3 non fault accidents and 1 my fault, well i reveresed into a post so not that bad! i bet it will be a write off, my two astras were writtern off within a month of each other! just unlucky mate! p--john--p
update: took car to friend of an organisation and he owns a body shop, basically told me in lames terms £900 , so its a write off for sure, he put me in contact with help hire ( i wuold recomend ) adn got hire car same day of similiar size and extras they told me , so heres me thinking ill get a focus right? no a bloody vauxhall astra and its a fooking diesel aswell , 64 miles on the clock tho and i gota admit its quite nippy and comfy lol 1.7 cdti , so just have to wait it out and see what help hire come up with cos they act on my behalf for everything including excess and reclaim money etc... had to buy a saint christopher see if i have more luck with that Edited December 20, 2007 by p--john--p
Rsailor
Don't worry about the car number thing. I had 4 in my 1st year, 5 in my 2nd, 2 on the 3rd. 9 years later I'm on 32. My friend (woman) wrote the 1st one off as she drove into the back of my friends car. I wrote the 6th or 7th one off. The 6th or 7th one was a mk3 escort and I hit an oak tree sideways. Put it this way the passenger head rest was well below the drivers head rest. I managed to drive it home, reverse it onto the drive to tell my dad that I needed some t cut to get a dent out. He wasn't impressed! Most of the cars were rotten, mechanical failure or sold.No I didn't smash them up!
joe on a mish
if the insurance write it off as they will ask how much to buy it back they usually say £50 and fix it yourself
racetechturbo
obv this post was dragged up from a while ago but ill add my bit cos you never know it may help someone out our si was hit same way, woman in tesco reversing the ford engineer said he value'd it at 700 (while looking about for others) but as it had a rusty arch/ bit of roof so he'd have to knock out £200 we said we wanted to keep it so he sent up a £400+ cheque, done and dusted in 2 weekswe kept the car (written off) and the wedge, i polished out the scratches (shallow dents wont budge) still looking for a headlamp but she's drivable damage was less than yours, our wing was fine as was the bumper, just the bonnet and headlamp for us
